Pele interest mounts

A number of British clubs are lining up offers for French star Yohann Pele, skysports.com understands.[LNB] The 27-year-old goalkeeper is one of most highly-rated shot-stoppers in Ligue 1 and has recently been called into the France squad.[LNB]He has spent his whole career to date with Le Mans, but is now set to quit the club in the summer with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.[LNB]The likes of Celtic, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Birmingham are all believed to be interested, whilst Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the player.[LNB]His English representative Peter Harrison confirmed the interest was mounting.[LNB]"A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Johann," he told skysports.com.[LNB]Foreign desireBordeaux are leading the chase to keep him in France, although Pele himself admits a move abroad remains his preference.[LNB]"I will choose the best sporting option for my career," Pele told Le 10 Sport.[LNB]"I have not made a decision so far, I am only focused on finishing the season with Le Mans but I will be kept informed.[LNB]"My preference is still to go abroad to experience something new, but I repeat that I will study every option."[LNB]
