Roman Pavlyuchenko has insisted that his run-out for the reserves on Monday was just a one-off.[LNB] The Tottenham striker stated that he only played to maintain his match sharpness as he helped the club's second string to a 4-0 win over Chelsea.[LNB]The Russian international was named on the bench for Spurs' 2-1 away win at Aston Villa on Sunday with Darren Bent preferred in attack.[LNB]The former Charlton ace netted his 15th goal of the season against Martin O'Neill's men, something which could keep the 27-year-old Pavlyuchenko on the bench again when Chelsea visit White Hart Lane.[LNB]"My friends told me about information about my dismissal to the reserves," he told Sport Express.[LNB]"It doesn't correspond to reality at all. I really played for the reserve team along with several players who didn't take part in the match with Aston Villa, and it was necessary to get playing practice.[LNB]"However it doesn't mean that I will play in the reserves on a regular basis. I keep training with the first team."[LNB]
