Roman on the road: Pavlyuchenko wants to go home[LNB]Roman Pavlyuchenko has warned Tottenham to sell him now or see his value plummet by letting him rot on the bench. [LNB]The unhappy striker is running out of escape routes after Zenit St Petersburg pulled out of the race to sign him, but it has not dulled his desire to quit White Hart Lane. [LNB]'Everybody understands that I must leave Tottenham,' the 28-year-old told Russian newspaper Sport Express.[LNB] 'If they keep me on the bench for another half a year the price for Pavlyuchenko will plummet. [LNB]'Naturally, I train as hard as I can and even get on the teamsheet, only to spend matches on the bench. And I very much want to play.' [LNB]Pavlyuchenko's preferred option is to return to Russia, but a £15million asking price has scared off suitors. [LNB]The former Spartak Moscow star's agent is due to meet Spurs chairman Daniel Levy on Tuesday or Wednesday to try to get a deal back on track. [LNB]Lokomotiv Moscow remain the team most interested in him, but Russia's richest club Zenit St Petersburg said they would not be following up interest after having an initial loan bid rejected. [LNB]  However, Pavlyuchenko claimed he would not have considered a move to his country's second city because of his history with their hated rivals, Spartak. [LNB]'I can reassure everybody at once or probably disappoint some people, but there is no way for me to go to the St Petersburg club,' he said. 'And it is my personal decision. [LNB]'The explanation is very easy: I will never be able to become an insider there because I used to play for Spartak for a long time. [LNB]'Knowing the relationships between Spartak's and Zenit's supporters I understand that the former's will never forgive me such a move and the latter's will never accept me fully. [LNB]'I have always cared for the attitude of the Red-White fans and that is why I told my agent that the option of Zenit is out of the question. [LNB] Benchmark: Pavlyuchenko stayed in the dugout against Hull on Saturday[LNB]'The transfer of a Spartak man to St Petersburg is like the move of a Tottenham player to Arsenal. It is wrong not to care a jot about the feelings of the supporters who loved you. [LNB]'I cannot imagine myself in the shirt of Zenit.' [LNB]Pavlyuchenko's Russia team-mate Vladimir Bystrov knows only to well of the rivalry. [LNB]The 25-year-old was never entirely accepted in Moscow after moving from Zenit to Spartak in 2005. [LNB]And when he returned to St Petersburg in August last year, he was booed for the rest of the season by his own Zenit fans, despite scoring six goals in 10 matches and helping the club clinch a Champions League place on the final day of the season in November. [LNB]Coincidentally, Zenit are now set to move for one-time Spurs target Fred, the Brazil striker who plays for Rio de Janeiro-based club Fluminense.
