Pav turns to needles and pins

Roman Pavlyuchenko is undergoing acupuncture in a bid to ease boss Harry Redknapp's striking worries ahead of Tottenham's game with Blackburn.[LNB] Redknapp fears he may be down to one fit forward after Pavlyuchenko was forced off at half-time of Tuesday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Sunderland at White Hart Lane with a back problem.[LNB]Pavlyuchenko said: "I felt the pain around the 25th minute after clashing with an opponent.[LNB]"My back cramped up and I was in a lot of pain.[LNB]"In the dressing room, I told the doctor and had a massage, but it didn't help.[LNB]"But, on Wednesday, I had a check-up which, thank God, revealed only a muscle spasm."[LNB]Redknapp is still without Jermain Defoe, while Robbie Keane remains a doubt with an ankle problem, leaving only Peter Crouch definitely available.[LNB]Pavlyuchenko is eager to recover in time to play a part this weekend and is doing everything in his power to get fit.[LNB]"I'm walking gingerly, but I'm being intensively treated with acupuncture and massages," said the 28-year-old, who hopes to be fit for Russia's friendly with Belgium on Wednesday.[LNB]"I hope that, after a couple of days, everything will return to normal.[LNB]"Then nothing will stop me from coming to the national team for the game against Belgium (next week).[LNB]"But I can only say that with confidence closer to the weekend."
