Party pooper Harry slams his Spurs after they limp back to Wembley

Leaving it late: Roman Pavlyuchenko breaks Burnley hearts by scoring the goal that took Spurs to Wembley. But with seconds ticking away, Pavlyuchenko and then Defoe scored to salvage Redknapp’s dream of a Wembley double - eight months after he led Portsmouth to FA Cup Final victory. But the Spurs boss, masterminding a fight against relegation which was boosted by the£14million signing of Wigan midfielder Wilson Palacios earlier in the day, was angry. Tough night: Harry Redknapp doesn't look pleased as his Spurs side struggle against Burnley. Following a win which pits the holders against Manchester United on March 1, he said: ‘I didn’t learn anything I didn’t know about the players. 'One or two of them looked like they had a sulk on because I am bringing players in. 'They should be fighting for their lives to stay at a great club like Spurs.’ He said his squad appals him, adding: ‘It’s been put together by I don’t know who, I don’t know how. It’s a mish-mash. It’s scary.’ With fatigue, injuries and lack of form biting deep, he said he would send an inexperienced squad to United for Saturday evening’s FA Cup fourth round tie. He has fresh injuries to Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Dawson and Jamie O’Hara and says he will concentrate on next Tuesday’s crucial home League game with Stoke. Burnley boss Owen Coyle could not have asked more from his side, who were out on their feet at the end. ‘It is gut-wrenching but nobody apart from our dressing-room gave us a chance. We were two-and-a-half minutes off getting there, but those are the margins at this level. 'We’re disappointed but the players should be very proud of their performances. If you analyse both games we were probably the better side and it was cruel for the players.’   More...
