Spartak Moscow have denied reports that they have made a new bid for Roman Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]The Russian side are keen to re-sign the striker they sold to Tottenham Hotspur for £13.8million after Euro 2008, but they have hit out at claims they have tabled a £9.5m bid.[LNB]Spartak offered to take Pavlyuchenko on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window and have also had a straight bid to buy him knocked back. [LNB] Rare appearance: Pavlyuchenko (centre) has struggled to get a game for Spurs [LNB]But they are currently unwilling negotiate until Spurs significantly reduce their £15m asking price.[LNB]Spartak sporting director Dmitri Popov was quoted by a national newspaper website as saying the bid was being considered by Spurs, but he has since said: 'I have not made comments about Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]'We're not currently negotiating with Tottenham. Yes, Pavlyuchenko might be of interest to Spartak because he is of a high level and because he's Russian.[LNB]'But the English club's position make negotiations on taking Pavel pointless.[LNB] Cold comfort: Pavlyuchenko talks to fellow bench-warmer David Bentley[LNB]'To bring him back for the same amount we sold him would be wrong.[LNB]'The figure of £9.5m, which appears in reports, is based on nothing.'[LNB]The striker's agent confirmed that negotiations are continuing between Spurs and Pavlyuchenko's suitors, but he would not reveal the clubs still in the race.[LNB]Zenit St Petersburg declared themselves out of the running earlier this week, but Lokomotiv Moscow are still keen on the 28-year-old once they have signed a midfielder.[LNB]Birmingham have shown interest, but are also put off by the high asking price, while several Barclays Premier League clubs have seen loan enquires dismissed.[LNB] Ruud van Nistelrooy snubs Tottenham, West Ham and Stoke for shock Hamburg switchTottenham, Man City and Sunderland in £10m race for Portsmouth's KaboulSpurs winger Lennon ruled out for three weeks and will miss Leeds tiePavlyuchenko insists Spurs will be the losers if they don't offload him NOWTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
