Owls dismiss Beevers link
Sheffield Wednesday have denied reports claiming Tottenham have tabled a bid for teenage central defender Mark Beevers.
Owls manager Brian Laws drafted in experienced centre-half Darren Purse during the summer and Beevers, 19, could have slipped down the pecking order at Hillsborough, with former skipper Richard Wood and Richard Hinds also vying for a starting place.
But Laws said: "Neither myself nor anyone else at Sheffield Wednesday has received any approach for Mark Beevers.
"There is no substance to this story at all. Mark is one of the best young defenders in the Championship at present and we see him as a key figure in our squad now and for the future."
