Jamie O'Hara is hoping Tottenham Hotspur's midfield riches will enable him to extend his Portsmouth loan until the end of the season.

Let me stay: O'Hara is enjoying life at Portsmouth

O'Hara has been one of Portsmouth's outstanding players since joining them on a six-month loan last summer.

Manager Avram Grant, who worked with Harry Redknapp at Fratton Park, has had one round of talks with the Spurs boss about O'Hara.

With England international Jermaine Jenas struggling for a starting place and Luka Modric nearing full fitness, O'Hara would be down the midfield pecking order if he returned to White Hart Lane.

He said: 'I have not heard anything from Harry but Avram has had a discussion with him.

'Everyone knows I want to stay and help the club out of the relegation zone. It is up to Tottenham to decide what they want to do.

'They are a big club with top players and sometimes a younger player has to go elsewhere for regular football and establish himself.'
