No Fabio feud: I won't stand in Ledley's way insists Spurs boss Redknapp

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is adamant he has no problem with England coach Fabio Capello and would allow club skipper Ledley King to play at the World Cup next summer. Redknapp was dragged into a war of words with Capello last week after King was controversially named in the squad for the double-header against Slovakia and Ukraine, despite suffering with a chronic knee problem, which means he can barely train in the build-up to games. King was forced to pull out just 24 hours after joining up with the squad, and the whole saga left a bitter taste between Tottenham and England. But Redknapp is determined to call a truce with Capello and says he would have no problems in the future if the England coach decides to call King into the squad. Redknapp said: 'I never stopped Ledley going and never said anything about the manager picking him. I don't know how I got dragged into all that. 'The medical people at Tottenham spoke with the medical people at England and I never spoke to Fabio. No one has got more respect for Fabio than me. He is a fantastic manager and will be a fantastic manager for England. 'There is no way I have ever disrespected him or disrespected England. I would never stop any player going to England - Aaron Lennon went and Darren Bent got called up this week. 'I said to Ledley a few weeks ago he would get back into the England squad with the way he is playing. All we said as a football club is that if he plays on Saturday he will not be able to play on Wednesday. 'It is a difficult one because he wants to play for England and I won't stop him doing that. I think he could still do a job at the World Cup if they used him right and nurse him through. 'You couldn't pick a better man if you needed him for a semi-final if someone is injured or suspended.'
