New stadium is crucial for Spurs hopes of muscling in on the big boys, insists Redknapp

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham[LNB]'s development of a new stadium must succeed for the club to join the elite of English football. [LNB]Spurs are pressing ahead with plans to build a 60,000-seater ground on the current White Hart Lane site and hope to submit a full planning application to Haringey Council 'in the next few months'. [LNB]Redknapp is confident Spurs can eventually join Saturday's opponents Chelsea as one of the Premier League's top clubs but insisted: 'A new stadium is all-important. It is a must for the club. Tottenham are a very big club with a huge fan base. The move to Emirates Stadium has certainly benefited Arsenal. You have to get there first and take it from there.'
