Tottenham star Luka Modric is set to hold talks with chairman Daniel Levy this week as speculation rages about the midfelder's future, it was reported Wednesday.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp told the Evening Standard that Croatian playmaker Modric was due to meet Levy on Thursday as Tottenham bid to thwart the departure of the 25-year-old.

Modric has expressed his desire to secure a move to London rivals Chelsea but Spurs are adamant that the player is not for sale at any price.

"I believe Daniel is meeting Luka tomorrow," Redknapp told the Standard.

"It's difficult when crazy sums of money are being bandied about but we need to keep Luka and all our best players if we are to improve.

"If we want to continue to challenge the top clubs in the Premier League then we simply have to get stronger - not weaker.

"Luka is a fantastic player and we need to keep him at the club. We certainly don't want to sell him."

Modric has become a pivotal player for Spurs since joining the club from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008, and has five years left to run on his contract at White Hart Lane.
