Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has undergone surgery on his right achilles tendon in a latest bid to end his injury nightmare.[LNB]Dawson has been out since Tottenham's 5-1 defeat against Manchester City in August with the problem, originally thought to keep him out for two months.[LNB] Setback: Dawson has been struggling with his achilles injury since August[LNB]But fears that he would be ruled out until 2012 look highly likely as he is not expected to return to full training until next month after going under the knife.[LNB]The Tottenham website confirmed that the 27-year-old will meet with surgeons then to discuss a possible return date to full training, but gave no incline of a likely return to first team action.[LNB]It's a massive blow for boss Harry Redknapp who last month said an operation for Dawson would be a 'last resort'.[LNB] One to forget: Dawson's (right) last game was the defeat against Man City[LNB]The England international first suffered a set-back when he tried to return to running with his team-mates last month. But he was reduced to weight work in the gym shortly afterwards, leading to him seeing a specialist.[LNB]It compounds the defensive problems for Redknapp at White Hart Lane, with Ledley King and William Gallas also missing large parts of the season through injury.
