McLeish tells Birmingham: Get me Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko

Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko[LNB]Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has pleaded with owner Carson Yeung to break the bank and land Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]City have already had a £6million bid for the Russian international knocked back by Tottenham but McLeish is still desperate to get his man.[LNB]Tthe North Londoners would accept an offer of around £10m for Pavlyuchenko after signing Monaco forward Eidur Gudjohnsen on loan.[LNB]City owner Yeung would seemingly be unwilling to match that figure but McLeish is still hoping he can convince the Hong Hong tycoon to splash the cash.[LNB]He said: 'I would certainly take Pavlyuchenko - he is a great player. I have asked the question and if the board can do it then it will be great. If they can't, we move on but have to move on quickly.'He is a good player but we are looking at other players. I am trying to bring in a player who could help the team and also bring in some quality.[LNB]'We cannot allow anything to drag on as the deadline is Monday.
