Mandaric: Redknapp the right man

Former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric has recommended Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to Sulaiman Al Fahim. Al Fahim, who fronts the proposed takeover of Pompey, will have to appoint a new manager if he takes control of the club as Paul Hart was appointed until the end of the season. Redknapp only left Fratton Park last October to join Spurs, before guiding them from the bottom of the Barclays Premier League to a top-half finish. Mandaric told The News: "Harry Redknapp is a fantastic manager. He knows and understands the game far better than most. He's a top manager and the right manager for Portsmouth. I rate him so highly. "Managing people is his best quality. He's not perfect and sometimes he would drive me crazy, but that quality always prevails." He added: "You've got to do the right thing and if bringing Harry to the club is what he needs to do, that is what he has to do."
