Lokomotiv Moscow have stepped up their bid to sign Roman Pavlyuchenko after the Tottenham Hotspur striker indicated he didn't want to move to Birmingham City.[LNB]The Blues remain keen on the Russia striker, despite having an initial £8million bid rejected, but they would face a tall order trying to convince him going to St Andrew's.[LNB]Spartak Moscow retain an interest in signing a player they sold to Spurs for £13.8m after Euro 2008, but Lokomotiv are in the driving seat after lodging a new undisclosed bid.[LNB] Back in the groove: Roman Pavlyuchenko (left) scores against Leeds in the FA Cup[LNB]'We have made an offer for the player,' said Lokomotiv president Nikolai Naumov. 'It hasn't yet been rejected. We are waiting and I think everything will become clearer towards the end of the transfer window.'[LNB]Birmingham already have other targets in mind and are closing in on the signing of Lens striker Aruna Dindane, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Portsmouth.[LNB]The Blues also have concerns about Palvyuchenko's high salary and Spurs' efforts to recoup what they spent on the player.[LNB] Familiar pose: Pavlyuchenko has spent much of the season on the bench[LNB]In any case, Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov said: 'Roman wouldn't go to the club, he wants to return to Russia. We are still within the transfer window in Europe, which, hopefully, will force Spurs to make concessions.'[LNB]Despite criticising the 28-year-old, Harry Redknapp admires Pavlyuchenko's talents and is not willing to let him go unless a good offer comes in.[LNB]But having signed the versatile Eidur Gudjohnsen on loan from Monaco for the rest of the season, either Pavlyuchenko or Robbie Keane look set to leave.[LNB]Russian clubs have the advantage in that their transfer window does not close until March, which means the transfer saga could still be running after the Premier League's deadline of 5pm on Monday.[LNB] McLeish tells Birmingham: Get me Spurs striker PavlyuchenkoD-Day for Kyle Naughton as Spurs set to decide defender's futureBirmingham bid to take Aruna Dindane on loan from LensTHE INSIDER: Spurs court Kyle Naughton suitors, Birmingham join Boselli queue, Stoke's battle for Huseklepp and Wolves step up pursuit of Rover RobertsBIRIMGHAM CITY FC
