03 February 2010 22:01
Follow the action from the FA Cup fourth round replay between Leeds and Tottenham from Elland Road. Jermaine Beckford's 95th-minute penalty earned the Yorkshire club a replay and this evening they will be hoping to cause another upset after sending Manchester United crashing out in the last round. Sportsmail's Tom Bellwood has the action from that game plus updates on the Premier League clash between strugglers Fulham and Portsmouth from 7.30pm. [LNB] FA CUP FOURTH ROUND REPLAY  LEEDS 1 TOTTENHAM 3 (FT)BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE FULHAM 1 PORTSMOUTH 0 (FT) 9.45: Tottenham's quality shone through in the end and in truth there was only going to be one winner in the second half as, for all Leeds' huff and puff they created nowhere near enough to win this tie. [LNB]Great energy from a thrilling cup tie but Spurs looked every inch a side two divisions above their opponents in the area that matters most - up front. [LNB]Harry Redknapp's side face Bolton in the next round. [LNB]In other news, Fulham won a much-needed three points at home to doomed Pompey. [LNB]9.40: GOAL! JOHNATHAN GREENING fires Fulham in front. Not a pretty goal, Greening via a deflection gives the hosts the lead. [LNB]9.39: FULL TIME - Tottenham finally seal their spot in the fifth round, Leeds pushed them all the way but Spurs were just too good in the end. [LNB]9.38: HAT-TRICK Jermain Defoe picks up the ball on the half way line with only Snodgrass chasing, skipped round the keeper and slotted home to win the tie for Spurs. [LNB] Hat-trick: Defoe seals an enthralling cup tie for Tottenham [LNB]9.37: Bentley goes on a mazy run but Crouch gives the ball away ... two minutes to go. [LNB]9.35: Huge cheer of encouragement as the fourth official announces four minutes of time added on. Can Leeds force extra time?[LNB]9.32: Last five minutes now - Leeds are starting to press. Kranjcar conceded a free-kick on the touchline and Becchio heads the resulting cross over. [LNB]9.28: Johnson and Beckford go into the book for late challenges and Peter Crouch has hit the crossbar ... that all happened while my sytem crashed (aaarrrggghhh.)[LNB]9.23: The game's still going on between Fulham and Portsmouth, still no goals. Yawn. 9.20: The travelling fans belt out that Chas n Dave classic 'Spurs are on their way to Wembley' and the Leeds fans try and lift their side, too. The first goal sparked Leeds into life, what have they got this time?[LNB]9.17: GOAL! JERMAIN DEFOE doubles his total and Spurs' lead. Bentley from out wide right whipped a fine low ball across the six yard box that Defoe flicked neatly into the far corner. [LNB] Jer-main man: Defoe fires Spurs into the lead at Elland Road[LNB]9.11: GOAL ... hang on, it's disallowed. Spurs flood into the box but Defoe had strayed just offside before tapping Bentley's cross home from five yards.[LNB]9.09: Bentley drives down the left wing, cuts inside a challenge and fires a wicked drive in but it's straight at Ankergren who tips over. I have a sneaky feeling Spurs will be made to pay if they don't make something of all this pressure. [LNB]9.07: Huddlestone laces one from 25 yards that whistles wide of Ankergren's upright. Leeds haven't found any momentum in this half ... yet! [LNB]9.03: It's back underway at Fulham ... but, more importantly Tottenham have just forced another great save out of Ankergren. Dawson's flick from a corner was tipped over. Bentley's been booked too, for a late challenge.[LNB]8.59: Now its Leeds' turn to go close. Beckford's drive from the edge of the area is deflected wide and the resulting corner turns into a melee that is barely cleared. The action is coming faster than I can type it out![LNB]8.56: Kranjcar from eight yards ... he must score, it's deflected and Crouch can only get a toe on it from two yards and it shaves the post. Tottenham should have put this game to bed. [LNB]8.54: The second half has started exactly how the first left off. Two chances for, yep, Defoe but the first flew wide, the second inches over the bar. [LNB] Defoe's opener (l) was cancelled out by Becchio's strike (r) just before half-time[LNB]8.49: The second half gets underway at Elland Road to a crescendo of noise. We're on for one of those nights, I'm sure.[LNB]8.44: Before the second half gets underway, I can tell you that both sides have had chances at Craven Cottage and it's  now HALF TIME. Fredric Piquionne has had a shot deflected over the bar and Bobby Zamora sees his shot blocked and go out for a corner, still without a goal there, though. [LNB]8.34: And that's HALF TIME at Elland Road. A breathless end-to-end corker that could have given us seven goals delivers just the two - but it has set up a cracking second 45 minutes. I can't wait![LNB]8.31: GOAL! LUCIANO BECCHIO levels for Leeds, their pressure has finally broken Spurs down and it's no less than they deserve. A hint of offside as Beckford latched onto a lofted ball into the box, his shot was parried by Gomes into Becchio's path to prod home from five yards.[LNB] Goal: Becchio bundles home to bring Leeds level right on half time[LNB]8.29: Oh, and there's a game going on at Craven Cottage ... it's not been much good but Pompey are on top. Now back to the engrossing game at Elland Road.[LNB]8.24: Michalik forces a great save out of Gomes and then Dawson charges down a great chance for Bromby. Great response fro Leeds who are putting Spurs under the cosh. [LNB]8.23: GOAL! JERMAIN DEFOE (finally) puts  Tottenham  in front. He's had some  great chances tonight but this one was mis-hit. Great work by Bentley down the right, his cross went behind Defoe who controlled and sliced across the ball which looped slowly into the top left-hand corner. Not pretty, but he'll take it. [LNB] Opener: Defoe's mis-hit shot gives Spurs the lead[LNB]8.20: I'm getting tired of typing this out but I shall endeavour ... Chance for Defoe, saved by Ankergren. A tough one for the Spurs striker but he did well to keep his shot down and Ankergren palmed wide.[LNB]8.17: Defoes' in again ..! But he's bundled over by Michalik just outside the area - Referee Andre Marriner says nothing doing. Replays show that was probably the right decision. How many chances do Spurs want?[LNB]8.12: Another great save from Ankergren! If Leeds win this, they have their Danish goalkeeper to thank. Bale's cross was deflected and heading at pace into the bottom left-hand corner but an instinctive palm was thrust out to keep it out. [LNB] Saved: Ankergren turns another Defoe chance around the post[LNB]8.10: Bales sells Jenas short who has to throw himself into a challenge to clear ... the ball is defelcted and spins into Defoe's path - he's in one-on-one with the keeper ... but Ankergren palms wide. Great save. [LNB]8.05: Snodgrass lobs a cross into the box ... Beckford's hit the crossbar! Hang on, he's been penalised for putting his hands across Gomes as he leaped to collect the ball. That's livened the home crowd up even more![LNB]8.02: Right, it's kicked off at Craven Cottage ... here's the team news ...  Fulham handed debuts to new loan signings Stefano Okaka and Nicky Shorey for the clash against bottom club Portsmouth.[LNB]Several players are unavailable through injury, including striker AndrewJohnson whose knee problem could need surgery, manager Roy Hodgson has made oneother change with Jonathan Greening coming in.[LNB]Defender Chris Smalling was on the bench as the Cottagers looked to end a run of five successive league defeats.[LNB]Pompey made five changes from the side beaten at Manchester City. African Nations Cup trio Nadir Belhadj, Hassan Yebda and Aruna Dindane come back into the side, along with Frederic Piquionne and defender Steve Finnan.[LNB] To Elland back: Bale holds off Snodgrass in a lively start at Leeds[LNB]8pm: I'll bring you the team news from Craven Cottage ... when I get a spare moment from this pulsating game at Elland Road. Leeds have just put together a good move and Gomes did well to hold on to Doyle's drive from 20 yards. [LNB]7.59: Defoe fires wide. Neat chest down from Crouch to the diminutuve England striker who thrashed a drive wide - Ankergren was rooted. [LNB]7.58: Two corners in a row  for Spurs which don't force a clear cut chance but are evidence of Spurs' domination of this game. [LNB]7.55: What a waste! Bassong fires over when he was in acres of space from Bentley's corner. He snatched at it when he had time to take a touch.[LNB]7.53: Howson fires over for Leeds and then Bentley's free-kick from 25 yards is deflected over the bar for a corner. Lively start. [LNB]7.49: Noisy, noisy evening in Yorkshire - the players and, it would seem, the fans are too. [LNB]7.46: Chance for Spurs ... inside a minute! Hughes' soft header back to Ankergren fell well short which Defoe latched on to but he couldn't get enough on it and Naylor cleared. [LNB]7.45pm: A triumvirate of Spurs players get the game underway.[LNB] Spurred on: Crouch and Johnson eye the ball in the early stages at Elland Road[LNB]7.39: The teams are out which is good, the snow that we saw come down by the bucketload earlier today has been cleared and we'll have some football for you in a moment.[LNB]7.32: I have good news for you ... the team news is in from Elland Road ...  Harry Redknapp has recalled Jermaine Jenas to the midfield for his side's FA Cup fourth-round replay at Leeds.[LNB]Jenas' performance in the original tie, which ended 2-2, attracted much criticism, but he has been restored this evening alongside Niko Kranjcar and Sebastien Bassong.[LNB]Ledley King is rested while Wilson Palacios and Luka Modric were on thebench.[LNB]Leeds are without loan signings Gary McSheffrey and Shane Lowry, so Andrew Hughes, back from illness, and Bradley Johnson have returned to the side.[LNB]Leeds: Ankergren, Bromby, Naylor, Michalik, Hughes, Howson, Doyle, Johnson, Snodgrass, Beckford, Becchio. Subs: Alan Martin, Crowe, Grella, Robinson, Somma, Hatfield, White.[LNB]Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, Dawson, Bassong, Bale, Bentley, Huddlestone, Jenas, Kranjcar, Crouch, Defoe. Subs: Alnwick, Palacios, Modric, Rose, Dervite, Parrett, Fredericks.[LNB]Referee: Andre Marriner[LNB]7.30pm: Evening all and welcome to what promises to be a thrilling evening of FA Cup action. [LNB]Leeds will concede that they were lucky to snatch a draw with Jermaine Beckford's late penalty but that will all be forgotten with victory over a high-flying Tottenham side, who sit fourth in the Premier League - 42 places above the Yorkshire club. [LNB]Leeds' boss Simon Grayson has claimed that the league game with Hartlepool at the weekend is more important than tonight's fixture but who believes him? [LNB]The chance to put one over another top flight club after the knocking rivals Manchester United out in the last round would be a real shot in the arm for a club who have spent more time out of the limelight than they would have ever expected.[LNB]And I will be keeping you up to date with the developments at Craven Cottage - after Fulham's strong start to the season they have tailed off badly and are in need of some points to avoid being sucked into the relegation mire. And Portsmouth, well, they're just Portsmouth.
