High: Spurs crushed Young Boys to reach the Champions League group stages for the first time...[LNB]Ledley King has played down suggestions Tottenham cannot cope with the demands of competing for success both at home and in Europe. [LNB]Spurs crushed Young Boys 4-0 at White Hart Lane to reach the Champions League group stages for the first time last month but crashed to a dismal 1-0 Premier League defeat at home to Wigan just three days later. [LNB]Harry Redknapp's men get their Champions League group clashes underway at home to Werder Bremen next Tuesday, before travelling to West Brom the following Saturday. [LNB]And while King admits Tottenham must learn the subtleties of competing on two fronts, the Spurs skipper also maintains that the side has enough quality to ensure success in both competitions this year. [LNB]King said: 'We've been in Europe before and we realise how difficult it is when you have the midweek games. We've got enough international players at the club and we know that, coming off a midweek game at the highest level it can be difficult.[LNB]'Too many times people expect Tottenham to slip up and get the kind of result we got against Wigan. But to be fair to us in the last couple of years we've come away from that. We've picked up results. [LNB]'Because we are such a good side teams will come to White Hart Lane and make it difficult but its up to us to break them down. Against Wigan we got caught in between two stools. We were pushing to get the win and we got caught at the same time ourselves. But its a balancing act and its something we have to improve on.' [LNB] Low: But then lost 1-0 at home to Wigan in the Premier League[LNB]He added: 'Any of the lads will tell you that they were quietly confident ahead of the second leg against Young Boys. We were happy with the result after we beat them and happy to be in the Champions League main draw.[LNB] 'But I don't think any of the lads have gone over the top. We put in the hard work last season and it was important that we finish that off this season. That's done now and its back to the League stuff.' [LNB]Tottenham face a daunting debut in Europe's premier club competition, drawn in a group containing European champions Inter Milan and German side Werder Bremen. But King insists sides with big reputations do not scare him and his Spurs team-mates. [LNB]He said: 'Inter are a top side with top quality internationals. But we played against this sort of side in pre-season. [LNB]'We played against Barcelona in pre-season. We've had a taste of what they are about. And we've got international players in our own squad so we won't be going anywhere with anything to fear. We respect our opponents obviously but we've got to show them what we've got as well.'
