With well over three weeks of possible transfers to come the rumour mill is doing overtime with many big names (and some not so big names) being associated with gracing the Premiership when the season starts on the 16th August.

Some of the main transfer rumours circulating this week are as follows:

Spurs: Mateo Musacchio is Pochettino's big transfer target with the Argentinian central defender a key part of Spurs plans to consolidate their defensive capabilities. The stumbling block could be the fee which is currently reported to be £39.5M and the fact that his previous club River Plate still hold around a 35% stake in the player. If Spurs get their man Kaboul and Dawson will both likely leave as Pochetinno will be pairing Musacchio with Vertonghen, as his main central defensive partnership.

Manchester United: Javier Hernandez future is in the balance according to his agent who believes the strikers future is undecided. A move to Serie A is believed to be favoured with Inter Milan and Juventus favourites to get his signature.

Arda Turan, the brilliant Turkish Athletico Madrid midfielder, quashed rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford by saying "I am at the best team in Spain."

Southampton: The Saints are posed to sign Celtic's impressive goalkeeper Fraser Forster, if Celtic fail to overturn a 4-1 deficit in their Champions League match. The fee is believed to be around £8M

West Ham: The irons have had a £7M offer rejected for Bosnian striker Vedad Ibisevic by VfB Stuttgart. Sam Alladyce is desperately trying to find cover for the injured Carroll who will be sidelined for a number of months and may turn his attention to Peter Crouch who is available for a knockdown fee of around £1M.
