Kranjcar stuns Bolton

Substitute Niko Kranjcar struck in injury time to give Tottenham a 2-1 win over Bolton. The visitors deserved something after Daniel Sturridge had levelled following a first period that saw Tottenham handed two penalties within 60 seconds. Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart netted the first but missed the second after being ordered to retake it as players encroached into the area. Referee Mark Clattenburg first pointed to the spot after five minutes as Vedran Corluka's improvised pass struck Kevin Davies - like the Croatian, in a prone position - on the hand and Van der Vaart planted the spot-kick past Jaaskelainen. Less than 60 seconds later the referee was pointing to the spot again after Sam Ricketts hacked down the speeding Aaron Lennon. Van der Vaart once more sent the net rippling, but referee Mark Clattenburg had spotted Wilson Palacios, among others, encroaching. He ordered a retake and Van der Vaart sent the ball wide. After Sturidge levelled, Jermaine Jenas hit the Bolton post with a free-kick and Tottenham would have retaken the lead but for a point-blank save by Jussi Jaaskelainen from Pienaar. It looked as if they would have to settle for a point until Kranjcar smashed home the late winner.
