SuperSport United defender Bongani Khumalo is on the brink of earning a trial at Premier League outfit Tottenham.[LNB] The 23-year-old centre-back was one of South Africa's star performers at the World Cup where he partnered skipper Aaron Mokoena in the heart of Bafana Bafana's defence.[LNB]Khumalo's stock has risen considerably since the global showpiece, with his crowning moment coming when he netted the opener in South Africa's 2-1 victory over France.[LNB]The former Jomo Cosmos defender admitted his agent is close to securing a trial at Spurs but insists nothing has been finalised.[LNB]He said: "They are working on it at the moment, but it hasn't been confirmed as of yet.[LNB]"It would be a dream. I have always wanted to play in England and obviously in the Premier League and it would be a dream to move to Tottenham - and if it happened it would be up to me to make sure it works."[LNB]Khumalo said the thought of plying his trade for a team which plays UEFA Champions League football was a major drawcard.[LNB]"Playing in the Champions League would be another dream," he added.[LNB]"I think the Champions League is the closest level to the World Cup in terms of quality and the play, so it would be great to make the move."[LNB]Khumalo is not the first Matsatsanta star to have been linked with the north London outfit. Morgan Gould and Masibuzane Zongo have both attracted interest from White Hart Lane in the past.
