Keeper Deal Close

Harry Redknapp has been quoted as saying that Spurs are close to signing goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa. The Spurs boss has said that he is close to completing the signing of the 31-year-old Croatian international shot-stopper, who had agreed to join Spurs on a loan deal from Spartak Moscow last summer but the move did not materialise because he sustained knee ligament damage. “We might be taking another Croatian, goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, we have every chance. We might be getting him and that’s good,” Redknapp told Croatian Soccer Report. “Player wise it’s difficult really, we’re still looking for one or two. We’ll have to see who comes up. “I would say the best boys I’ve ever managed in my life have been Croatian. I’m not just saying that. I think they are fantastic. “I’ve had Igor Stimac, Slaven Bilic, Davor Suker. Robert Prosinecki was a genius. Fantastic footballers and all great guys too.” Stipe Pletikosa (Spartak Moscow) Information Date of birth Monday, 8th January 1979 Height 6.4 Place of birth Split, Croatia Weight 13.10 Nationality Croatian Position Goal Comments   Squad No. 22 Recent Career History By Club (1999 onwards) Team Debut Apps (+ sub) Goals Yellows Reds   Spartak Moscow 15 Aug 2007 11 (0) 0 0 0 Shakhtar Donetsk 18 Oct 2006 1 (0) 0 0 0 Hajduk Split 08 Aug 2001 4 (0) 0 0 0 Recent Career History By Season (1999 onwards) Season First App. Apps (+ sub) Goals Yellows Reds   2008/2009 06 Nov 2008 4 (0) 0 0 0 2007/2008 15 Aug 2007 7 (0) 0 0 0 2006/2007 18 Oct 2006 1 (0) 0 0 0 2002/2003 19 Sep 2002 2 (0) 0 0 0 2001/2002 08 Aug 2001 2 (0) 0 0 0 Appearances 16; Goals 0; Yellow cards 0; Red cards 0
