Keane set to join Beckham's Galaxy of stars in LA

LA Galaxy have launched an ambitious bid to sign Tottenham striker Robbie Keane.

David Beckham's MLS club have offered $3million for the 31-year-old striker, who is also wanted by Championship big-spenders Leicester.

Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson wants the Republic of Ireland record goalscorer to spearhead Leicester's promotion push and they are prepared to make him the highest paid player at the club.

But Galaxy look set to have won the race for the striker by offering him a two-year deal worth ?6m in wages.

Keane has made no secret of his desire to play in America and flirted with the idea back in January prior to joining West Ham on loan.
