Keane hails Redknapp factor
Robbie Keane insists Spurs' revival this season is down to the influence of manager Harry Redknapp.
Tottenham turned to Redknapp 11 months ago following their woeful Premier League start last term under Juande Ramos.
Keane was sold to Liverpool under Ramos' tenure only to be brought back to White Hart Lane by Redknapp six months later.
The Republic of Ireland international believes having a manager who speaks English makes the world of difference, as Spaniard Ramos did most of his talking through assistant manager Gus Poyet.
"The manager's been fantastic to all of us," Keane said. "He speaks perfect English which helps.
"I'm not talking about anyone before but he gets his point across and you know exactly what he means.
"The players respond to that. As a football man he knows the way he wants to play and it suits us because we like to get the ball down and pass and counter attack. He has been brilliant so far for Tottenham."
Keane showed he is back to his best at the weekend by scoring four goals in Spurs' crushing 5-0 success over newly-promoted Burnley.
The 29-year-old believes Redknapp's man-management skills are among his best attributes as he keeps the players happy even when they are not in the team.
"The reality is it's a long season and you're not going to play every game. With the players we have here there are times you are going to be left out," he added.
"If we want to progress and do well as a team and push into that top four we have to have other lads playing ahead of you."
Meanwhile, Jermaine Jenas was encouraged by Fabio Capello's positive comments following a chance meeting with the England head coach.
Jenas is currently out of the international picture, although he is pleased the Italian has been keeping tabs on his recent progress.
"I bumped into him on a train the other day going to Bobby Robson's memorial," Jenas said.
"We had a quick word. I hadn't spoken to him for a while actually. He was all positive and all I can keep doing is what I'm doing on the pitch and hopefully I'll be in with a shout.
"I've just to keep doing what I did against Burnley and hopefully I'll be knocking on the door and get a chance in the England team again and show Capello what I can do."
