Tottenham have revealed the latest plans for their new stadium - including the possibility of an ice rink outside the ground. Spurs want to include a public square as part of the Northumberland Development Project, which would have space for community events such as a temporary rink or street markets. The new plans also include a 150-room hotel and, inside the 58,000-capacity stadium, a design to seat spectators closer to the pitch. 'Having the fans right up close, on the edge of the action, can lift the team on the day when it matters most and make the stadium a fortress,' said Spurs skipper Robbie Keane. The full planning application is due in "the next few months" for the new ground adjacent to Spurs' current White Hart Lane home, with the club encouraged by the reaction so far of local residents. 'We received an overwhelmingly positive response to our first exhibition and we have spent the past few months further developing our plans, adding new elements, responding to feedback and evolving the scheme to where it is now,' said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. 'Too often new stadiums are surrounded by empty, dead space and we did not want that in Tottenham. 'Instead, with these new plans for the public square and public space, we have embraced the opportunity to create something truly special for local people.' The latest plans will be revealed as part of a second public consultation, taking place from April 2 to 7.
