Jermain Defoe: It would be just perfect to score my 100th Spurs goal against Milan
Jermain Defoe has set his sights on scoring his 100th Tottenham goal in Wednesday's Champions League return clash with AC Milan after ending his Barclays Premier League drought.[LNB]Defoe netted his first and second Premier League goals of the campaign during yesterday's thrilling 3-3 draw with Wolves at Molineux.[LNB]It took his top flight tally to 99 - the same number as he has managed in all competitions for Spurs - and he is now on the verge of becoming only the 16th player in the history of the club to reach three figures.[LNB] 98 down, two to go: Jermain Defoe hits his first goal for Tottenham at Wolves to move nearer three figures for the club[LNB]Tonderful feeling? Jermain Defoe wants to bring up his hundred against Milan[LNB]Both goals came from stunning strikes from the edge of the box but a late header from Wolves substitute Steven Fletcher denied Spurs the victory that would have seen them climb back into fourth spot.[LNB]Defoe has been frustrated by his lack of goals in a stop-start campaign but now wants to help Spurs to finish off AC Milan after their 1-0 first leg triumph.[LNB]He said: 'If I score my 100th goal for Tottenham on Wednesday night there will be a reason why.[LNB]'I say that because I always believe things happen for reason but it would be nice to do it.[LNB]'It's been a long while since I scored my last Premier League goal. More than anything, it has been frustrating.[LNB]'As a forward when you are scoring goals, you are full of confidence and buzzing about.
