Jenas told to explain ref blast

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas could be in hot water with the Football Association for his remarks about referee Howard Webb following the 5-2 defeat to Manchester United.[LNB] The FA has written to the England international asking him to explain his comments about Webb, who awarded a controversial penalty against Spurs when the visitors were leading 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.[LNB]An FA spokesman said: "We have written to Jermaine Jenas to ask for an explanation for his remarks."[LNB]Jenas has seven days to respond after which FA disciplinary chiefs will decide whether he is to face a charge or not.[LNB]The remark the FA takes issue with is when Jenas said after the game: "One thing which struck me about it was that he [Webb] didn't even think.[LNB]"It was like he'd already made his mind up when he came out for the second half that he was going to give something."[LNB]He also said: "I think it was a case of a referee crumbling under the pressure at Old Trafford really.[LNB]"The atmosphere, the occasion, the importance of the match, a lot of factors take their toll when making decisions."[LNB]
