Jenas - Pressure got to Webb

Jermaine Jenas has accused referee Howard Webb of 'crumbling under the pressure' after his dubious penalty decision at Old Trafford.[LNB] The Tottenham midfielder was left baffled when the official pointed to the spot after Michael Carrick went down under the challenge of Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.[LNB]The decision left the North Londoners fuming after it was clear that the Brazilian stopper got a hand to the ball.[LNB]With the score at 2-0 the decision effectively changed the game, even though the champions were starting to dominate proceedings, and Spurs found themselves on the end of a second-half mauling with United running out 5-2 winners.[LNB]"That was a prime example of a referee crumbling over the pressure at Old Trafford," he told the Daily Mirror.[LNB]Game changing"I don't want to make excuses and we went on to concede another four after that, which were sloppy goals, but it would have been a completely different game had they not got that first goal.[LNB]"It's just the way football is sometimes and pressure gets to people. The atmosphere, the occasion, the importance of the match, a lot of factors take their toll when making decisions.[LNB]"One thing that struck me about it was that he didn't even think.[LNB]"It was like he'd already made his mind up when he came out for the second-half that he was going to give something."[LNB]
