Jenas: I thought I was going

Jermaine Jenas has admitted Tottenham's failed pursuit of Scott Parker has enabled him to revive his White Hart Lane career. [LNB] Harry Redknapp launched a £12million bid for the Hammer's captain over the summer but was thwarted in his efforts. [LNB]Had he succeeded, Jenas would have been out, but having been dumped in the reserves just three weeks ago, he has battled back to earn a place in the starting XI. [LNB]"I didn't know whether I was coming or going at one stage. It was only a few weeks ago that I was playing against QPR in the reserves, but I've kicked on from there," he told the News of the World. [LNB]"I knew it was going to be tough because I was not Harry's first choice at the start of the season.[LNB]"The club may have sold me if Scott had arrived. Now that I am in the side I want to stay in there, especially for nights like the San Siro."[LNB]The challenge is now for the England international to retain his place in the side, and its one he's ready to accept. [LNB]"I don't let speculation affect me; I just focus on my day-to-day work. Thankfully it seems to have worked out. Now we have Manchester United and Inter at home."
