Jake Livermore wants to play regularly for Tottenham

Jake Livermore hopes a string of impressive performances in the Europa League will help persuade Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp that he deserves to be part of his first-team plans for the club's upcoming league campaign.[LNB]Livermore's strong displays in pre-season have lead Redknapp to pinpoint the 21-year-old midfielder as one of the players he will use in his Europa League campaign.[LNB]With the Spurs manager determined to give priority to the league, Livermore is likely to play a number of games in Europe, should the north Londoners come through their play-off game against Hearts later this month.[LNB] Earning his Spurs: Jake Livermore (right) has impressed during pre-season[LNB]Livermore, who has spent the last two years on loan with Championship sides, hopes the opportunity of playing in the Europa League will convince his manager that he can cut it at the highest level.[LNB]'I'm hoping the Europa League can be a little shop window for me where I can get some games and show the manager what I can do,' Livermore, who made a second-half substitute appearance against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, said.[LNB]'Hopefully from there I can start getting some Premier League starts and cement a place.'[LNB]Livermore has only made one start since his move from Milton Keynes Dons in 2008 and his most recent loan spell came at Leeds, where he spent the final two months of last season.[LNB] Priorities: Harry Redknapp (left) will be focusing on the Premier League[LNB]The Londoner had to sit back and watch in envy as Tottenham went on a thrilling Champions League run last season which saw them take on both Milan giants before exiting the competition to Real Madrid.[LNB]That has whetted his appetite for playing in Europe and he hopes to help the club achieve the fourth-place finish which just escaped them last term.[LNB]'When I was at Leeds I saw all the big (Champions League) games, and all the games I could come back for, I did.[LNB]'Obviously you want to test yourself against those sort of players.[LNB]'As a kid you either want to play for them or against those sort of teams.
