Harry Redknapp has backed Avram Grant to revitalise Portsmouth - but insists the Israeli isn't after Paul Hart's job.[LNB]Grant was reappointed as Pompey's director of football on Wednesday in a bid to haul them off the bottom of the Barclays Premier League.[LNB]Redknapp, who worked alongside Grant during his second spell at Fratton Park, has backed him to turn Portsmouth around.[LNB] Fratton spark: Avram Grant will help boost Portsmouth[LNB]Delight: Hassan Yebda fired Portsmouth to their first win against Wolves[LNB]  'The first phone call I made yesterday was to Avram Grant, to welcome him back to English football,' he wrote in his Sun column.[LNB]'It'sstrange how he has gone full circle. From working with me at Pompey, then going off to manage Chelsea - all those adventures - and now backat Fratton Park. And he will be richer for the experience.[LNB]'Avram took Chelsea to the Champions League final, finished runners-up in the Premier League and worked with top, top players. [LNB]'Paul Hart's job as manager at Pompey may just get a bit easier with Avram around. I don't think Avram will be after Paul's job.[LNB]'He will be there as a great sounding board and a voice of experience, while Paul has the final say on who plays in the team. But Avram is a nice guy, that's not a criticism either.[LNB]'He was always a very calm figure in a world of football that can often appear to be incredibly manic. A calm figure is just what Portsmouth need right now. [LNB]'Someone to put his foot on the ball and offer good, sound advice without panicking.  I see the pair of them getting on well and it will only help Paul and Portsmouth.'[LNB]Redknapp has now backed Portsmouth to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.[LNB]He added: 'I think there will be a few more smiles on the faces of people at Portsmouth in the coming weeks and maybe their rivals will be looking over their shoulders a bit more from now on.'[LNB] Pals: Harry Redknapp (front centre) worked with Grant (back centre)[LNB] Ukraine v England live!
