If Tottenham won't have me I'm sure someone else will, says O'Hara
Portsmouth loanee Jamie O'Hara hopes his form for the south coast strugglers will put him firmly in the shop window, should he prove surplus to requirements at Tottenham. [LNB]The 23-year-old has spent the campaign at Fratton Park after struggling to gain regular first-team football at White Hart Lane. [LNB]On the ball: Pompey loanee Jamie O'Hara[LNB]O'Hara has been the shining star of a very dark season for Pompey and has thrived in a free midfield role given to him by manager Avram Grant over the past few matches. [LNB]With Pompey facing a nine-point deduction from the Premier League after going into administration, the club is almost certain to be playing Championship football next term. [LNB]Having enjoyed such a promising campaign, O'Hara admits he is unlikely to follow Pompey into the lower division. [LNB] But he hopes his efforts, which have helped the club reach the FA Cup semi-finals, will bring him to the attention of top-flight bosses, should Spurs manager Harry Redknapp opt to sell him in the summer. [LNB]He said: 'The fans have been fantastic to me here and I have really enjoyed it, but I will be going back to Tottenham in the summer. [LNB]'Obviously, Tottenham is a fantastic club and any person in the Premier League would like to play for them. [LNB]'I am a Tottenham fan and I've always loved playing for them whenever I've put the shirt on. But I'll have to sit down in the summer, have a chat with the gaffer and see what he wants from me. [LNB] Shining star: O'Hara has been one of Portsmouth's most consistent performers this season [LNB]'If he feels it's time for me to move, hopefully I've done enough this season for a few clubs to be interested. [LNB]'I feel I have done enough this season to be playing in the Premiership and that's what I'll be looking to do.' [LNB]While O'Hara looks set to be weighing up his club future in the summer, he could also have some decisions to make on the international stage. [LNB]Spurs fan: O'Hara is considering his future with the north Londoners [LNB]The midfielder qualifies to play for the Republic of Ireland through his grandparents and has been linked with a spot in Giovanni Trapattoni's squad. [LNB] Despite being born in Dartford and representing England seven times at under-21 level, O'Hara is ready to consider playing his senior football for the Irish. [LNB]But he is set to hold off on making his decision until after this summer's World Cup finals in South Africa. [LNB]He said: 'Obviously, there has been some interest and it is a great honour to be asked to play for Ireland. That's something I'll have to look at in the near future. [LNB] 'I've played for England at under-21 level and I've always played as an England player. That's who I wanted to play for growing up. [LNB]'It's just something I'll have to look at after the World Cup. I'll sit down and have a discussion with my family, some friends and make a decision. [LNB]'I'm English and I'm Irish, so to be asked to play for either is a fantastic honour. I would be proud to wear any of the shirts. [LNB]'So when the time is right to make the decision, hopefully I'll make the right one.' Having established himself as a regular starter in the Premier League, O'Hara is certain he has what it takes to break into the England side. [LNB]He added: 'I'd like to hope I'm good enough. I think I've proved to people that I am good enough to play in the Premiership every week. [LNB]'There are a lot of players in the England team now that are pushing on 30, so there has to be a new generation of players coming through.
