ShareTottenham star Gareth Bale was carried off in agony after an horrific challenge from Blackpool captain Charlie Adam.[LNB]The damage to Bale's ankle after an hour of the 1-1 draw at White Hart`Lane sparked a war of wordsbetween former England manager Kevin Keegan and Blackpool boss Ian Holloway.[LNB]Bale was seen slapping the turf in despair after the impact of Adam's crude tackle distorted his left ankle horribly for a split second.[LNB] Captain's call: Holloway defended his skipper Adam following his tackle on Bale[LNB]Spurs manager Harry Redknapp said: 'Whether he will be able to play for the rest of the season, Idon't know.[LNB]'Gareth's ankle is quite swollen and it could be ligament damage, we won't know until he has had ascan. But it looked a bad challenge it certainly wasn't a good one. The boys all say it was a poortackle.'[LNB]Keegan, speaking as a pundit on ESPN, went further. He claimed: 'I think he [Adam] meant it. I thinkhe should've been sent off.'[LNB]Angry Holloway hit back: 'I'm disappointed that he has said that. Wasn't Kevin ever slightly late with a tackle? That's what happened here. Charlie has genuinely tried to get the ball. He hasn't got it in him. At this level, the game is so quick.[LNB]'Keegan is paid for his opinion and entitled to it, but Kevin should know the lad like I know him. He almost came here to Spurs in the summer, why would he want to hurt anyone here?[LNB] Last showing: Bale (right) attempts a cross before injury saw him leave the field[LNB]The impact on the immediate career of Bale, who is said to be worth ?50million, cannot yet beassessed. But the fact that Adam was not even penalised for his challenge infuriated Tottenham supporters.[LNB]They were even more frustrated when Adam scored from the penalty spot to put Blackpool ahead and effectively sink Spurs' Champions League dreams, despite a late equaliser from Jermain Defoe.[LNB]Redknapp admitted it will be 'very difficult now' to qualify for the Champions League but the draw boosts Blackpool's hopes of staving off relegation, and Redknapp believes they can stay up.[LNB]'I think they can beat Bolton at home,' he added.[LNB]'They are on 36 points and one win they will be OK. They have a big chance. They have a go and work hard.'[LNB]Bale will not know the extent of his injury until he has a scan tomorrow, having left White Hart Lane oncrutches, with an air boot protecting his left ankle.[LNB] Tottenham 1 Blackpool 1: Gomes goes from hero to zero in just 66 seconds!LIVE: Tottenham 1 Blackpool 1 - the action as it happenedAll the latest Blackpool news, features and opinionAll the latest Tottenham news, features and opinion[LNB]  Explore more:People: Ian Holloway, Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe, Kevin Keegan, Harry Redknapp, Charlie Adam Places: United Kingdom
