Hatchet Man: Huddlestone needs to take the hint and realise that his future lies away from Tottenham

Harry Redknapp was gushing in his praise for Tom Huddlestone as he tried to reassure the midfielder he has a future at Tottenham. But before the England Under-21 international gets too excited about the possibility of a change of fortunes for him at the club where he hardly ever plays, he should read between the lines. Thankfully, it wouldn't take a genius to work out that Redknapp sees Huddlestone as a good substitute, someone who has potential and will be good to use every now and again before he fulfils it. The problem with that is that Huddlestone is unlikely to make the most of himself if he is mostly watching from the sidelines. So Tom, focus on this part of what Redknapp said: 'If we are going to keep pushing on and to be a bigger, better club then you need that squad and competition for places,' and stick to your plans to push off in the summer because things will not be looking up for you at White Hart lane next season.
