Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists he wants to keep unsettled striker Roman Pavlyuchenko at White Hart Lane. Pavlyuchenko's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks with the Russian failing to establish himself in Redknapp's starting XI. The Russia international has found himself fourth-choice striker behind Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch so far this season. Pavlyuchenko's former club Spartak Moscow and Zenit Petersburg have both been linked with the player, but Redknapp hopes to keep him in North London. "He (Pavlyuchenko) needs to play and he finds it difficult not playing and he wants to be part of the Russian team. I had a chat with him this week and he's happy here. He enjoys being here. "I've started with Jermain (Defoe) and Robbie (Keane) up front and the results couldn't have been better so it's been hard for him and Peter Crouch. Disappointed "They are disappointed but it is difficult to change a team that is playing so well. "Pavlyuchenko's got great technique. He took his goal well at Doncaster in midweek. "If there's a big offer and the chairman feels we need to do it we'll decide from there. But I'd like to keep him." Redknapp almost admitted he is unlikely to make any new signings before the close of the transfer window next week. "I've not got anybody lined up to come in," added Redknapp. "Someone could offer you a player who could do something for the team, but at the moment we're not even close to getting anybody in."
