Harry reveals Huntelaar fears

Harry Redknapp has admitted that striking a deal for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be difficult due to the Dutchman's wage demands. Huntelaar is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer following the Spanish club's incredible spending spree, which has seen the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu. Stuttgart appeared to be close to signing the striker earlier this week before he rejected the Bundesliga side's offer. Tottenham have also been linked and Redknapp confirmed his interest on Thursday, saying talks had been held over a possible move. However, Redknapp is reluctant to pay 'crazy money' and fears that he will miss out on Huntelaar for the same reasons as Stuttgart. "Daniel (Levy) spoke to Real Madrid and went over to meet the people, but his wages are beyond us," Redknapp said in the Daily Mail. "I think Stuttgart were trying to do a deal, but Real Madrid were not prepared to do the deal they wanted. "I am sure we would have the same problem. I can't see it happening." Redknapp has been frustrated in his efforts to sign new players during the transfer window as Spurs have not been able to compete with the likes of Manchester City. He explained: "Wages are difficult. We pay good money but we don't pay crazy money so it's hard. "I was interested in Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz but we couldn't get anywhere near them."
