Harry Redknapp claims he will resign as Tottenham manager if the club sells any of his best players.[LNB]Spurs' chances of finishing fourth and taking the final Champions League spot for the second season in a row are in serious doubt following their 2-1 defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday.[LNB]That has led to fears that Tottenham will need to sell some of their stars to balance the books as they will miss out on a ?30million by not qualifying for Europe. [LNB] Red-hot: Gareth Bale has attracted interest from rival clubs after a string of impressive displays this season[LNB]Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart could all be sold but Redknapp wants to do the opposite and add to his squad.[LNB]He told the Sunday Mirror: 'If you start thinking about selling your best playersyou might as well give up. What's the point in carrying on? It effectively sends out all the wrong signals.[LNB]'And when one player leaves the rest want to follow him straight out the door. Then you have situation where the quality of football goes into decline and you're going backwards on the pitch.[LNB]'I'm not sure the supporters would want to see a side who's only ambition is to secure a mid-table finish in the league.[LNB] Balancing act: Luka Modric is another player that Tottenham could sell if they need to address financial issues[LNB]'Clubslike Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool will notstand still so if the club want regular Champions League football we have to try and complete.[LNB]'I accept it's not going to be easy but you can't let all the good work you have done go to waste.[LNB];ManchesterCity have spent a fortune trying secure a top four finish and I doubt they will have any hesitation doing the same this summer when the transfer window re-opens for business.[LNB]'I'm not suggesting we haveto compete at that level because we have a very talented squad. You just need to add two or three players to freshen things up.'[LNB] Chelsea 2 Tottenham 1: Kalou scrambles winner as Blues scrape controversial winLinesman could cost us ?30m: Spurs boss Redknapp fumes after Chelsea defeat TOTTENHAM FC
