Harry Redknapp comes out fighting over 'softies' slur towards his Tottenham team

Harry Redknapp is tired of the southern softies tag that Match of the Day's Alan Hansen in particular likes to tie around Tottenham.[LNB]The pundit's throwaway line 'in the end, they'll always let you down' is meant to antagonise presenter and ex-Spurs striker Gary Lineker.[LNB] Battlers: Harry Redknapp insists his Tottenham team are not a soft touch[LNB]But Redknapp, on the back of five straight wins that have reinforced Spurs' claims for fourth place and Champions League qualification, bristled: 'We've not let anyone down. We've had a fantastic season. Again. And we have a million injuries.'[LNB]As for the southern softies label, Redknapp retorted: 'Not when Dave Mackay was here and Spurs won the Double. I know West Ham have had it in the past, but what about Arsenal? They are southern and a couple of years ago went through the season unbeaten.[LNB]'You can't give a tag to a few teams from the same area because they all change over the years.'[LNB]Though Redknapp's Spurs go to Sunderland on Saturday fancying their chances, even with a weakened team, they have not won there since 2001.[LNB]'We've got almost a team out injured,' says Redknapp. 'Now Michael Dawson, who's been brilliant, and Tom Huddlestone, who's been so important, are out.
