Players' Christmas parties at Tottenham have been banned for the foreseeable future.[LNB] Roberto Mancini may have been happy to let his Manchester City stars enjoy the festivities last week but Harry Redknapp wants to banish the tradition to history. [LNB]'Harry will be saying there are no Christmas parties,' said Spurs first team coach Joe Jordan. We have a lot of great traditions (in this country) but the Christmas parties is one we have to forget.' [LNB] Full of Christmas spirit: Tottenham players have been banned from partying hard this festive period[LNB]Redknapp will warn his players of his stance again after the debacle over players' festive celebrations last year. Then, a group of players left the manager fuming by going to Dublin to party after being told such events were banned. [LNB]Redknapp was embarrassed by news of the trip emerging after he publiclyannounced his ruling and the 16 players on it each had to make charitydonations of £20,000 as their punishment.[LNB]He will not tolerate a repeat. 'The players will be reminded,' said Jordan. 'It is something he wants them to stay away from. Going out as a group of players at this stage of the season brings on what you don't want. We have moved on. [LNB] The way we were: Tottenham's Christmas parties have always been lively affairs[LNB]'It is a dangerous thing to do now. You are leaving yourself open to speculation and rumour. Now, you play until May and then go and enjoy your summer. That is the way it should be.' [LNB]Redknapp has been an outspoken opponent of the booze culture which is a hangover from previous eras in this country. [LNB]He has even had to warn players such as club captain Ledley King about their behaviour in the past and has also been embarrassed by pictures of others partying. [LNB]But Redknapp insists Spurs do not have a drinking problem and believes they will do him proud against Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Sunday. [LNB]The game will have a bearing on Spurs' title hopes as stand-in skipper William Gallas faces another of his old sides. [LNB]Sebastien Bassong, likely to partner Gallas in the centre of defence, said: 'We have started to win the big games and that means a lot to us. If we want to do better then we have to beat the Arsenals and Chelseas. Then we will be ready to do something really good.'   Harry believes Spurs CAN win the title: Right-hand man Jordan reveals allGraham Poll: I was scarred by Chelsea aggro... but Spurs were brilliant!Competition: Win tickets for Blackpool v Tottenham - courtesy of BarclaysTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
