Harry - Modric is top class

Harry Redknapp admits it is hard to pinpoint Luka Modric's best position, but hailed the Tottenham ace as a 'top-class player'. Modric has impressed at White Hart Lane during his debut season in the Premier League following his arrival from Dinamo Zagreb last summer. After replacing Juande Ramos as manager last October, Redknapp originally suggested Modric was most effective playing in behind a striker. However, in recent weeks, the Croatian has operated from the left of midfield and his contribution has drawn praise from Redknapp. Absolutely brilliant"That's a difficult one," Redknapp told Hotspur magazine when asked what he thought Modric's best position would be in the long term. "Luka's proved he can play in all of those positions - he's done that job on the left side fantastically for us. "He comes off the touchline and gets involved in-between [the midfield and attack] and he's a difficult player for full-backs to mark because he doesn't just stay wide on the left. "He therefore gives the full-back the problem of whether or not he comes inside with him and if he does, that creates holes for us as well. "He's such a fantastic footballer that it's difficult to nail down where his best position is, but wherever he plays, he's absolutely brilliant, a top-class player."
