Harry Kane says Mauricio Pochettino has created a bond at Tottenham that money cannot buy.
Spurs registered their first victory of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday as summer signing Victor Wanyama scored a late winning goal.
Wanyama and Vincent Janssen are so far Tottenham's only additions of the transfer window, with the pair costing less than £30million combined.
Talks are ongoing with Marseille over a deal for winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Pochettino may make one more further signing in midfield, but Spurs have no intention of imitating their big-spending rivals.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, in particular, have all splashed the cash this summer but Kane believes Tottenham's spirit and togetherness could yet prove priceless.
"We have got a great team. The manager has brought a couple of new signings in. We have got a great team bond," Kane said.
"We went through a lot last year, both highs and lows, so we have got that experience together. The gaffer has created a family atmosphere, a brotherhood between the players.
"Teams that buy a lot of players feel like they need to change something. The manager has felt we did not need to change too much.
"We have got a great core. Let the talk be about everyone else, like it was last season, and we will just keep doing what we are doing."
Tottenham's slow start last season ended up costing them dear in the title race but victory over Palace means Pochettino's men have taken four points from their opening two games.
"We said before the game that we do not want to fall too far behind the leaders already," Kane said.
"There are some top teams in the Premier League this season and we have got to try and stay up the top.
"Last season I do not think we won for the first four games and we wanted to put that right."
Spurs started with two strikers on the pitch, as Kane dropped deeper into a number 10 role while Janssen, signed from AZ Alkmaar last month, led the line.
The duo showed signs of a promising partnership but neither were able to break the deadlock, with Janssen particularly disappointed after wasting a one-on-one.
"I thought we played well together. He likes to hold it up and bring others into play," Kane said.
"We created a lot of chances and on another day I think we both could have scored a couple of goals.
"If the manager wants us to play together throughout the season then we are more than capable of doing that. We will create a lot of chances and score a lot of goals.
"I played as a number 10 throughout my time in the youth team and a lot growing up so I am used to that position.
"It feels like a long time ago now but I am happy to play that role and I think it worked well on Saturday."
