Harry in dark over Vieira
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has not given up hope of signing former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, but admits it looks unlikely.
The Frenchman spent nine successful years at Arsenal before moving to Italy with Juventus and now plies his trade with Inter Milan, where he is now surplus to requirements.
Redknapp still feels the 33-year-old has a lot to offer and has been in contact over a controversial switch to Arsenal's fierce North London rivals.
However, with Redknapp busy securing the services of striker Peter Crouch last week, talks have stalled between the two parties and the Spurs boss admits he is unsure if the deal will go ahead.
Very Quiet
"It's gone very quiet to be honest," said Redknapp, who is currently in Beijing where Spurs are preparing for the Barclays Asia Trophy.
"When Patrick's name was put to me a few weeks ago, saying he was interested in moving to Tottenham, I became interested in him.
"I've always thought he could bring something to the club. He's been there (at the top) and he's a fantastic player. I still feel he has something to offer Tottenham.
"His adviser said Patrick was interested in coming. But since then it has gone very quiet," he added.
"Whether it happens now, I can't be sure. But I certainly would be interested in him if he became available."
