Hamstring blow for Lennon

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon could be out of action for "weeks" after suffering a suspected torn hamstring in the Barclays Premier League match against Sunderland, manager Harry Redknapp has said.

Lennon came off during the first half of Spurs' 1-0 win against the Black Cats and is now likely to be missing over the club's festive season and beyond. The former Leeds player's absence will be a big flow for Tottenham, particularly as they face rivals Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Thursday.

"Lennon felt the tear. He has no chance for Thursday," Redknapp said.

"He felt it go. It will be weeks if it's a tear."

Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe also missed the win through injury.
