Hammers boss reveal Keane interest

West Ham boss Avram Grant has revealed his interest in Tottenham's Robbie Keane, but Harry Redknapp appears reluctant to lose the striker.[LNB] The Hammers, who remain pointless three games into the new season, are looking to bring in fresh faces before Tuesday's transfer deadline.[LNB]Having mustered just one goal in the Premier League so far, it is clear that their shot-shy attack could do with some fine tuning.[LNB]Grant is well aware of the need to strengthen if possible, providing the club's board make the necessary funds available.[LNB]Should he receive the kind of backing he requires, he admits that Spurs ace Keane would be towards the top of his wish list.[LNB]"The club has big, big debts but he's a player I would like to get," said the Israeli coach.[LNB]Redknapp has been quick to play down any suggestion that Keane could be moved on over recent weeks, maintaining that the Irishman remains an integral part of his plans at White Hart Lane.[LNB]"I wouldn't accept an offer for Robbie Keane before the window shuts, not at the moment," he said.[LNB]"We haven't got anybody else. I couldn't afford to let him go."[LNB]However, having been restricted to just two substitute outings in all competitions so far this season, the experienced frontman may welcome the opportunity to leave White Hart Lane, either on a short-term deal or in a permanent switch.[LNB]Keane took in a productive loan spell at Celtic last season and could be tempted by a similar agreement in 2010/11.
