Gunter: I fancy Forest loan

Chris Gunter has opened the door to a potential return to Nottingham Forest on loan after Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp quashed talk of a permanent deal. The 19-year-old Wales international defender enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Reds at the end of the recent Championship season. Davies has made little secret of his desire to bring the former Cardiff man back to the City Ground and the club confirmed on Thursday that they were in talks with Spurs with a view to either a permanent switch or a season-long long. Redknapp has ruled out selling Gunter but the rookie told the Nottingham Evening Post: "If I went back and Tottenham said 'You're still 19 and need to go out and play more games.' And if Forest wanted me, I'd genuinely feel there wouldn't be too many better places to go." He added: "It's a brilliant club with brilliant people. I'm contracted to Spurs, but if they tell me to go for a season on loan then it's something to consider."
