Gordon Taylor on PFA Players' Player of the Year nominee: Scott Parker

"I have great admiration for Scott Parker as a player and as a person. He is relatively small in stature for the role he has but the workrate, the courage, the bravery - every game he puts his body in there and tackles. He has never been frightened of taking on a team. He is a good captain and sets the right example. He has been a great buy. He has always been a quality player. Not all his moves have worked out - at Chelsea and you wonder why - because he has kept his quality. At West Ham when they were battling against relegation he was still in there, still at the top level. I think Tottenham and England have found he is more than capable of doing it at the top level. I am delighted for him. He is one of our finest players and as a person as well he is top class.

"It would be really nice - like a lot of the young player winners have said to me, they would only be satisfied when they have won the Players' Player - Steven Gerrard said that amongst others - Scotty is one of those who believes he is capable of winning the Players' Player of the Year and that is why I am pleased he is in with those nominations."
