Gomes disappointed with sloppy Spurs

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes believes a lack of concentration is damaging their bid for Champions League football next season. A 1-0 defeat at Wolves - their second to Mick McCarthy's side in the space of two months - meant Spurs missed the chance to take advantage of fourth-placed Liverpool's defeat at Arsenal. Manager Harry Redknapp bemoaned a lack of "magic" within his team but Gomes thinks it was even more basic than that. Spurs opened their campaign with a victory over Liverpool but have also lost to Stoke and drawn against the likes of Hull, Fulham, Birmingham and Bolton. It is results like those which are damaging the chances of a first Champions League campaign for the club, according to Gomes. "We lose a little bit of concentration for games like this," said the Brazilian goalkeeper in the London Evening Standard. "The best sides win these games and that makes the difference in the table."
