Gareth Bale Sale Will Propel Tottenham Hotspur on to Greatness

Spurs fans seem fairly relaxed about the on off saga surrounding the impending sale of their welsh wizard Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. Let’s face it the situation is a win-win for the Lilywhites. Numerous Sources at the start of the season confirmed that Bale has openly stated several months ago that he would stay at Spurs for at least another year. That resolve is being severely tested and the prospect of becoming the most expensive player in the world is one way to change a player’s mind; not to mention the Chairman who will be seeing the huge profit margin on offer.

Spurs fans are relaxed about this – a transfer fee of £100M will see them cover their already substantial summer signings, leave plenty of money for another signature signing and still leave loads of money in the bank. Let’s face it Gareth Bale was an exceptional player last season. He cleaned up on the awards by being recognised by both his peers and the media as the best player in the Premiership. But last year was his first successful really consistent season – a few years before Spurs were even considering a £3M transfer to Birmingham, I kid you not.

.Spurs could do a lot worse than sell him for this king’s ransom. At Spurs Bale is undoubtedly the big fish in a small pond but at the Galactico’s, even with a world record price tag, he will be in the shadow of Ronaldo and others. Personally, I can see Gareth flopping at the Bernabau and coming back to the Premiership within 2 years for less than half the money he was originally sold for, but then again I am a bit of a cynic.

What do Spurs fans think? Do you think your club should sell him and grab the money or do expect a little bit more loyalty from Gareth Bale?
