Gareth Bale promises flying start for Spurs

Gareth Bale has vowed to be fighting fit and back to his dazzling best when the season starts in just over two weeks' time. [LNB]The Tottenham winger enjoyed a blistering start to the campaign - most memorable for his two displays against Inter Milan in the Champions League - but struggled in the second half of the season after picking up injuries. [LNB]Bale had a niggling back problem and then missed the final three games of the campaign with an ankle knock. [LNB]He said: 'I've got back from my ankle injury and don't feel anything at all. I feel good, the whole team feels good and I think that shows. [LNB]'I don't think we played to our best in the first two matches, but we showed what a good team we are in the final and showed the South African fans what we're all about.' [LNB]Harry Redknapp's side lost to Kaizer Chiefs and drew with the Pirates before winning Saturday's Vodacom Challenge Trophy final.
