Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists Gareth Bale is the best player in England at the moment and completely irreplaceable at White Hart Lane.[LNB]The 21-year-old looked to be on his way from Spurs last season after failing to impress following his £10m move from Southampton in 2007.[LNB]But the left-sided Wales star played a huge role in getting the north Londoners into the Champions League while his goals this season have fired them through to the knockout stages, leaving Redknapp convinced he is a racing cert to be player of the season. [LNB] Man of the moment - and the season: Gareth Bale is in a class of his own insists Spurs boss Harry Redknapp[LNB]And Redknapp is certain there is no better player in the Premier League at present, with the signs looking even better for the future.[LNB]He told talkSPORT: 'For me, at this particular time, he's got to be thefootballer of the year in this country. I can't think of anyone who'sdone as well as him.[LNB]'He's not a player that we would really want to sell. You've got tohang onto your best players. If Tottenham want to a club that's alwayslooking to get in Champions League football you can't sell thoseplayers.'[LNB]What do I want him for? Reports linking Emmanuel Adebayor with Tottenham have been laughed off by Harry Redknapp [LNB]On reports of the winger being linked with a move to Manchester City ina £60m swap deal with Emmanuel Adebayor, Redknapp joked: 'Yeah Ithought we'd have a straight swap. I thought it sounds like a gooddeal. It's not April 1st is it?[LNB]'Absolute nonsense. I've never made any enquiries for Adebayorwhatsoever. I keep seeing in the papers that we're after him. I'venever ever asked about him or enquired about him.[LNB]'We don't want to sell Gareth Bale. At the end of the day it wont be mydecision, it'll be above my head but it would take an absolute fortuneone day to buy him.[LNB]Redknapp added he was not looking to buy in the January transfer window.[LNB]'I'm not looking for too much. As we've always said if we find someonewho makes a difference and would take us on that extra bit [we would bein the market] but it's always difficult to find.[LNB]'We've got good players and the top players, in this country, are notavailable. It's difficult to improve your team and squad. At the momentwe're not even close to thinking about signing anybody else.'[LNB]Redknapp, though, admitted he did not want to look too far ahead and was just concentrating on his job at Spurs.[LNB]He added: 'You never know. Honestly, I don't go home and think I want to be manager of England. All I've said is if an English guy gets offered it it would be hard to turn it down.[LNB] England calling? Harry Redknapp is happy at Spurs at the moment - but wouldn't turn it down[LNB]'I'm very happy doing what I'm doing, managing Tottenham. In two years time, who knows? You can't tell. I may be struggling, somebody else is going to come and do well.[LNB]'It can all change. Two years is a long time in your life and certainly it's an awful long time in football.[LNB]'I don't even look that far ahead. I could be managing Poole Town or someone in two years. Who knows, it's difficult to know.'[LNB] Foreign threat to Redknapp's ambition of becoming the next England bossSpurs boss Redknapp in contention as FA consider next England managerBirmingham 1 Spurs 1: Struggling Crouch should follow the lead of ZigicEverton to miss out on loan deal as Kranjcar eyes permanent switchBirmingham 1 Spurs 1: Gardner sews seeds of recovery as Blues come backTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
