Gareth Bale confident of joining Real Madrid, according to Spanish press

According to Marca, a Spanish based newspaper, Spurs winger Gareth Bale is said to be confident of joining up with the Spanish Giants this summer.

The Welshman, as we all know, is heavily linked with Madrid; with the president of the club, Florentino Perez, claiming he “is born to play for Madrid.”

Recently, Spurs boss, Andre Villas-Boas, insisted that Bale is not going to leave the club and has the full assurance of Chairman Daniel Levy, that no sale will be made in the summer.

But, according to the latest reports from Marca, who apparently have inside contacts with the club, Bale is convinced that Madrid will forward an offer he might not refuse.

Bale remains tight-lipped over the situation, which would start to really worry me if I were a Spurs fan.

But even as a neutral, I don’t want to see him leave White Hart Lane. He brought the Premier League to life last season, almost singlehandedly earning Tottenham a Champions League spot. It remains to be a rumour Spurs fans, I’m sure, are starting to sweat over. If Bale was to depart for sunny Spain, AVB and co. must prepare to repair the gaping whole left by Bale’s departure.
